About Bayfest

BayFest will celebrate its 21st Anniversary on October 2-4, 2015 with an expected crowd of more than 50,000 guests per day, who will make merry in the streets of Downtown Mobile and experience continuous music throughout the festival weekend.

Having grown substantially since its debut in 1995, BayFest has become known for its vast array of renowned musical talent which appeals to a wide variety of audiences. Past performers include: Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Alabama, Kid Rock, Journey, Reba, Motley Crue, Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band, Duran Duran, Mary J. Blige, Brantley Gilbert, Toby Keith, The Roots, Foster the People, R. Kelley, Ludacris, Jane's Addiction, Nelly, Al Green, BB King, Lady Antebellum, Alan Jackson, Godsmack and many, many more!

BayFest offers a diversity of music for everyone, including country, rock, alternative, classic rock, pop, jazz, R&B, rap, gospel, reggae, and more. The festival designed The Launching Pad and The Cafè Stage to spotlight our amazing local/regional talent who aspire for musical greatness. The event also includes a family activities area located in historic Bienville Square.

BayFest was the proud recipient of the Top Festival/Event of the Year in the Southeast in 2012 given out by the Southeastern Tourism Society: The festival has also been recognized many times as one of the Top 20 October Events throughout the southeast, receiving extensive exposure in print, television and radio in the U.S. and Canada. In 2009, BayFest was named "Alabama Event of the Year" by the Alabama Bureau of Tourism and Travel. In addition, they have recognized BayFest for its economic contributions numerous times! BayFest was acknowledged as a Top 100 Event Award American Bus Association for 2012, 2013 and 2014. BayFest has proven to be a hometown favorite with numerous local wins from: The Mobile Press Register, Lagniappe and the Mobile Bay Monthly Magazine.

In the past 20 years, BayFest has generated in excess of $400 million for the Mobile economy. More than dollars, the event provides destination awareness and potential for repeat tourism to the City of Mobile.

As a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit corporation, BayFest depends heavy on the continued support from both sponsors and hundreds of volunteers.
