Media
Credentials
Media credentials for BayFest 2012 are available only to reporters and photographers working on
assignment for a newspaper, radio station, television station, network or website. Eligible websites must
contain relevant content and applications must include website traffic data. All freelancers
must provide evidence of assignment generated by the media outlet/employer. Media passes and photo passes will be
issued separately this year. Photo passes will only be issued to professional photographers.
To request media credentials, outlets should send a request on official letterhead, signed by an editor or news director and a copy of the publication, if applicable, to BayFest Media Credentials, PO Box 1827, Mobile, AL 36633 or email press@bayfest.com.
Your request should be received by Monday, September 24, 2012. Media credentials will be expedited for applicants who provide proof of last year's BayFest coverage. By requesting media passes you agree to abide by all festival regulations.
Access
Media credentials provide entry into the Festival site. Media credentials do not allow access to the photo pit,
backstage, VIP areas or other off-limits areas.
Photography
The BayFest photography policy has changed significantly, so please read carefully. Photo passes will be
issued separately from media passes for this year's festival. Due to photographer safety, band security and
liability considerations, the number of photo passes issued will be extremely limited and only issued to
professional photographers with professional photography equipment. Only media members with photo
passes will be allowed in the photo pit. Access details will be provided upon approval of your media
credentials and photo passes. All other media will have access to the BayFest official photographers'
website for use in BayFest coverage and will be issued a password with their media credentials. Official
photographs will be downloaded for media use twice a day during BayFest.
Artist Interviews
Requests for artist interviews must be submitted to scott.thornburg@redsquareagency.com by September 24, 2012. Please
include the medium name and the reporter(s) name and phone number. Artist interviews will be assigned
based on several criteria including the artists' contractual restrictions, demand for interviews and
appropriateness. BayFest media sponsors and major media will be given preference for interviews with
major artists. Smaller media outlets are encouraged to request interviews with newer or niche artists who
are often eager to grant interviews and offer fresh perspectives.
Media members approved for artist interviews should contact a BayFest media team member on site 30 minutes prior for an escort to all artist interviews. Details for contacting on-site media team members will be included in your media pass approval notices.
